Tribal Health EHR System Selection

A tribal health organization in Arizona needed to evaluate and select a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to support its clinical, operational, and regulatory needs. Paula served as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert, guiding leadership through a structured, data‑driven process to assess current‑state workflows, define requirements, and identify the best‑fit solution for the organization’s long‑term goals. This engagement was delivered through Paula’s role with Pivot Point Consulting.

Key contributions included:

  • Assessing current‑state workflows to understand clinical, operational, and administrative needs across departments

  • Facilitating leadership alignment on priorities, decision criteria, and long‑term organizational goals

  • Defining functional and technical requirements to ensure the selected EHR would support care delivery, reporting, and compliance

  • Evaluating vendor capabilities through structured scoring, demonstrations, and scenario‑based reviews

  • Supporting change readiness discussions to prepare leaders and staff for the transition

  • Identifying integration and data needs to support continuity of care and reporting requirements

  • Providing objective guidance to help leadership navigate trade‑offs and maintain focus on strategic goals

  • Documenting findings and recommendations to support executive decision‑making and next‑step planning

This work positioned the organization to move forward with an EHR solution that supports clinical quality, operational efficiency, and long‑term sustainability.
