Rapid COVID‑19 Response + Technology Strategy
A large community health organization in California needed to rapidly expand its COVID‑19 response while establishing a clear, long‑term technology strategy. Paula helped deploy technology supporting community testing and vaccination clinics across the East Bay and led the organization’s go‑forward technology roadmap, guiding the transition from its current‑state systems onto the OCHIN‑hosted Epic platform. This engagement was delivered through Paula’s role with Pivot Point Consulting.
Key contributions included:
Coordinating rapid‑response COVID‑19 vaccination documentation technology to support community testing and vaccination efforts across multiple East Bay locations
Partnering with clinical and operational leaders to design workflows that supported safe, efficient community‑based care
Assessing current‑state systems and processes to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Developing a clear technology transition strategy to support the move to the OCHIN‑hosted Epic platform
Aligning leadership around long‑term goals for clinical quality, reporting, and operational efficiency
Defining functional and technical requirements to ensure the future platform would meet organizational needs
Supporting change readiness and communication planning to prepare staff and leaders for the transition
Documenting recommendations and next steps to guide executive decision‑making and implementation planning
This work strengthened the organization’s ability to deliver community‑centered care, pandemic response capacity, and a future‑ready technology foundation.
